Firm Client Secures Parity Act Settlement

A firm client secured a settlement with is health insurance plan administrator based on a claimed violation of the Mental Health Parity And Addiction Equity Act claim. The burden of the case was that the denial of coverage, based on the patient’s age, violated the terms of the Act because there was no corresponding age limitation on comparable medical services. The terms of the settlement are confidential, and the defendant did not concede fault in settling.
